We successfully grew little lime tails that we’re about to plant, so if you want to grow your own, just trust the process and germinate them on a damp paper towel. Peel the skin off the seeds first, then seal the damp papertowel that’s filled with seeds in a airtight baggies or jar. In 2 weeks, tails should grow and then you can plant them in a little bed of soil and wait for them to grow more!

Now I’m not sure if you know this, but only key limes have seeds. So the limes you find from the grocery stores don’t and therefore you can’t grow them. Seedless limes plants have flowers that don't require pollenating to make fruit, which results in zero seeds. I find that so cool!

There are two main varieties of lime - the Persian limes and the Key limes.
The Persian limes are usually seedless, and that’s because they are grafted, which just means when you cut part of one lime tree and plant it. The Key limes are smaller and have a more intense flavor and they contain seeds.
