डिलीवरी के तीन महीने बाद भी अगर perineal stitches heal नहीं हुए, तो यह अक्सर गहरे tear, बड़ा baby weight, या pregnancy के दौरान pelvic floor exercises न करने की वजह से होता है।

अगर इतना समय होने के बाद भी healing complete नहीं होती, तो repeat perineal repair surgery या anal sphincter repair करना पड़ सकता है।
