Citadel Valley Cave - Rasnov

Описание: Valea Cetății Cave is a cave located approximately 3 km from the city of Râșnov, on the Valea Cetății road to Poiana Brașov, located at an altitude of 825 m. The cave was discovered about 60 years ago (approx. 1949, when following a hydraulic explosion - due to accumulated sediments and the very narrow entrance - the entrance to the cave was unblocked, hence the name Fundata Cave). The main gallery has a total length of about 958 m.

Thanks to the improvements made in 2010, Valea Cetatii Cave was able to be included in the tourist circuit and was declared a "Protected Natural Area of ​​National Interest and Natural Monument".

The cave has a unique lighting system, with LED, precisely in order not to disturb the ecosystem and the bat colonies that have made their home here. The paths are made of fiberglass to be safe and "invisible". The light, the reflections that the small lakes form eliminate the claustrophobic feeling of the cave and create an enchanting, fairytale landscape.

The Great Hall is amazing for its natural beauty, for the splendid decor that nature has worked on for hundreds of years. White limestone formations, stalactites, stone sculptures and special colors delight any tourist who enters this unique cave.

What makes it even more special? Acoustics! This is also the reason why the Brasov Philharmonic organizes concerts without any amplifier, without any sound system.
