We take on the world-renowned Mount Whitney - standing at an impressive 14,505 ft. Hiking the standard route up from Whitney Portal, we backpack to the gorgeous Lone Pine Lake and set up camp before cold plunging in the lake.
After a short rest under the Milkyway, we start the trail - entering the Mt Whitney Zone at 1 am.
We watch the sunrise from the infamous "99 Switchbacks," traverse the back of Mount Muir along the ridgeline overlooking Sequoia National Park and summit the mountain around 8am.
An absolutely amazing trail and it got us itching for more incredible summits.
