In this episode of In Good Company, Lana sits down with Claire Flower, Lisa Cunningham and Lauren Peters from Beverley Holidays in Paignton. Three women running a busy, well-loved family park, and they had a lot to say.
Claire has just taken on the role of chair at HARPA. She talks about what that actually means for the organisation this year, beyond the rebrand, and why building a community where competitors still openly share ideas is something worth protecting. The NextGen network comes up too, and why getting younger people genuinely invested in this industry is not optional.
From there the conversation gets into what Beverley is seeing on park. Real stuff. Dining patterns are shifting in ways the team did not quite expect. Older guests are using technology in ways that surprise people. Some younger guests are not using it at all. The point that keeps surfacing is that it is not really about age, it is about personality, preference and giving people a genuine choice.
There is a thread about segmentation, about what it actually means to know your guests well enough to communicate relevantly. And then, towards the end, things take a turn into TikTok, fridge-restocking videos, doom-scrolling, and whether we are all just chasing a dopamine hit at the end of a long day. No conclusions, just an honest conversation.
Beverley Holidays is a family park in Paignton, Devon, and a Holidaymaker client. They are also hosting our next XP Hospitality event: https://community.holidaymakerxp.co.u...
