Trams were massive once in Australia. Sure they have come back a bit, but lets look at the story of all the tram networks of Australia. Their rise during the first half of last century, their fall which came close to extinction by the 1960s and then their gradual return in the last 20 years.
There are lots of 'facts' in this video - we have tried our best to ensure they are correct by using multiple sources from what we think are credible books, websites, blogs and articles. But we do make mistakes.... and to be honest not all info on the web / books is consistent with each other either - particularly with opening dates of lines and number of trams operating at the peak of each network.
Note: at 12 minutes I say Leonora is "West" of Perth. It's east of Perth. So if you are in Perth and are heading to Lenora. Please don't follow the video's directions - you will end up very wet and will take a very long time to get there.
