📚 Description: The Vampire Blood Moon Explorer was an evolution on the Gibson VooDoo Juju series that started in 2002. Since a VooDoo looked very "metal' - for this limited edition in 2011, they decided to take that to a new extreme! The Vampire Blood Moon Explorer utilizes red blood drop inlays, the iconic JuJu Satin finish and most importantly... Gibson USA Active pickups called GEMs and a STOCK Schaller Tremolo. The control layout is also stylized after the 1984 "Alder" bodied explorers that are well loved because of Metallica and other thrash-metal bands. The Vampire Blood Moon has a Swamp Ash Body with no pickguard.

Personally, I'd prefer a regular VooDoo Explorer, but if you like active pickups and "Floyd rose esq" tremolos, you'll NEED this guitar!

In 2020 - a "Blood Moon" Les Paul was introduced, but it is actually just a reskin of the "Dark Knight" that Guitar Center did for Black Friday in 2019. It doesn't share the same features as this explorer
