Running OpenWRT on macOS UTM (QEMU)

OpenWRT 24.10 and 23.05 provide "ext4 combined" images which are easier to use compared to the kernel and rootfs of OpenWRT 22.03.

I mentioned Proxmox as an example during the conclusion. Proxmox is a good hypervisor if you want to try more complex networking setups with OpenWRT machines. While it is not necessairly the same technology or exact same steps, the high level concepts remain the same.
