These are kind of funny and weird but we get these questions all the time.
1. Do you remove all the glue when taking off the braces? The answer is of course yes but what I realized is that patients are concerned about the "white spot lesions" that appear sometimes after removing braces. Those are due to poor oral hygiene. It's sad because those will never come off therefore we stress proper hygiene all the time.
2. What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen? Many may not find this interesting but we saw someone with 9 wisdom teeth! Having teeth stuck everywhere is not as crazy to me but having that many extra teeth was very different.
3. How can you be a Dentist or Orthodontist, looking at peoples mouths is gross!? The basic answer is you get used to almost anything but yes sometimes it is a little nasty yet in the end we have to remember we are helping people feel better about themselves through their smiles. This is a very rewarding gift.
