In this video we upgrade the BMW e30 drift car by intalling Garagistic's 80A transmission & motor (engine) mounts. Will they make a difference? The video covers that too, as we got a chance to run them at the track and on the street. Wow! What a surprise!

I got these for Christmas, and oddly enough, ended up doing the installation as we make progress on the e30's steel widebody project. We needed an adjustable rear subframe to fix the camber in the rear, so while the car was in the air and we were replacing the subframe (and a rear axle, and parking brake shoes and a bunch of other stuff) we decided to put these in as well.
This is actually the second time I've reaplaced the motor and transmission mounts. When I bought the car the motor mount were ripped in half and the engine was sitting in the bay twisted and looked like it was ready to fall right off. The bolts on the top and the bottom of the stock motor mounts are two different pieces embedded in the mount, which is why they can tear in half. I replaced the first set with new stock mounts, and they actually held up pretty well over the past year. However...we were looking for something better. In addition to being stiffer, prettier, better machined, and having stronger hardware, the attachment points are solid and go all the way through the mounts. That means they're not going to tear in half. I like that!
The installation went smoothly. It's really not a difficult job if you have something lift and hold the engine and transmission and you can make enough room under your car to safely move around under it (lift, jack stands, pit, whatever...)
These a serious upgrade. I mean that in two ways:
First - You have to be serious about wanting these. There are compromises: Installing these a big change in how solidly the engine is connected to the car. If you want comfort and quiet...this is not for you.
Second - Because the connection to the car is much more solid, the car feels much stiffer, much more 'connected', much more tactile. You can hear the car better you can feel the motor better. It's a shocking transformation.
