Artists Shanaz Gulzar and Steve Manthorp have shared an artistic co-practice as ADEPT since 2004.
Both artists have established solo practices which inform and enhance their collaborative work.
Shanaz is a digital and installation artist and stage designer, working across disciplines to make innovative and challenging interventions. Steve is an artist, curator and an innovator in digital practice.
Through their early work together, ADEPT developed a conceptual and imaginative approach that is responsive to site, social and historical context. From early gallery-based work, ADEPT have progressed to large scale public video projections, installations and performative works.
