Synopsis of the plot of the song:
It is about Baron Valdemar, who fled from the cruel overlord, sometimes described as a King, sometimes not. He fled the Eastern Empire, fleeing in the west to find a refuge. He established a small nation, and ruled wisely and well. But he knew, even though his son was raised well, with compassion and mercy, that future decendents of his might become as heartless and cruel as the overlord his people had fled from. So he prayed to every god he had ever heard of, and the Companions came, white, shining, and pure. The rest, as the storytellers say, is history.
