DER-MG Opens Bidding for Construction of Three Bridges on MG-202 in Northern Minas Gerais
The Department of Highways of Minas Gerais (DER-MG) has opened bidding for the construction of three bridges on the MG-202 highway, between the cities of Pintópolis and Urucuia, in Northern Minas Gerais. The estimated cost for the construction of the three crossings is over R$ 11 million.

The bridges are part of the complementary works to the improvement and paving project of the MG-402 and MG-202 highways, currently underway in the same stretch. In total, 73 kilometers of works are being carried out, which promise to transform logistics and regional integration.
The structures foreseen in tender notice no. 2301520 000037/2025, published in the Official Gazette this Tuesday (October 14th), include the construction of a bridge over the Gameleira Stream, 39 meters long by 10 meters wide, another structure over the Tabocas Stream, 59 meters by 10 meters, and a third crossing over the Ribeirão das Pedras, 33 meters long and 10 meters wide.
The Director-General of DER-MG, Matheus Novais, highlighted the importance of the works for regional development. "These bridges are fundamental to guaranteeing the continuity and safety of the paving between Pintópolis and Urucuia. We are talking about an axis that connects the North and Northwest of Minas Gerais to the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri valleys, reaching as far as the South of Bahia. It is a strategic route for the flow of grains and other products from the region," he stated.
Impacts and Benefits
With the completion of the works, approximately 100,000 people are expected to directly benefit. The paving and construction of the bridges will bring significant gains in logistics, mobility, and road safety, in addition to promoting regional economic development.
Furthermore, there will be a significant reduction in travel time between cities and important logistics centers. According to estimates by DER-MG (Department of Roads and Highways of Minas Gerais), the journey to Brasília could be reduced by more than two hours, favoring cargo transport and tourism.
Bidding and Schedule
Companies interested in participating in the bidding process must submit their commercial proposals and documentation exclusively through the official state procurement portal, from October 20th to November 28th, at 9:30 AM, the date on which the online public session will open.
The complete tender document will be available for free download from Friday (October 17th) on the websites www.compras.mg.gov.br and www.der.mg.gov.br.
A technical visit to the construction sites is scheduled for October 30th and 31st, by prior arrangement, and is recommended so that companies can familiarize themselves with the terrain conditions. More information can be obtained by calling (31) 3501-5056 or through the official channels of DER-MG.
