Nadia Ali from the BBC pays a visit to my house. She tasted my bori and mango gila, which i'm selling to raise funds for Orphans Home.

We then started talking about how the flood in Bangladesh effected the general population, especially the poor and my family.

I briefly mentioned the main purpose of my recent visit to Bangladesh was to monitor the building Orphans Homes and give out Emergency Aid to the flood victims.

Summary of discussion around the flood;

💥Biggest flooding for over a 100 years,  with devastating consequences.
💥60%-70% of Sylhet under water.
💥Over 6 million people affected, that's over half of population of London 😔
💥We need to provide urgent aid now, but we need focus on the aftermath e.g.

🙏 Waterborne diseases
🙏Rebuilding of houses that have been destroyed or washed away by the floods
🙏Providing medication to the people affected.
🙏Continue proving emergency food aid as supplies locally have now depleted!

Do date 13 Rivers Trust | Sylhet Aid distributed the following;

💚 625 food packs
💚 24 boats
💚 770 dry food packs
💚 5,300 cooked meals

We are in the process of planning and organising the practical ways we can help the people in Sylhet. Over the next 3 months we will be providing the following: Food packs, Housing Repairs, Essential Aid, Medical Support and Boats.
