A major religious update related to Punjab and the Sikh community has come to light.
The Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has appealed for maximum participation in the ongoing struggle demanding the enactment of strict laws to prevent incidents of disrespect toward Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
He stated that full support should be extended to the Nagar Kirtan being organized from Samana to Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib under the leadership of Gurjeet Singh, with the cooperation of the Sangat.
The Singh Sahib clearly emphasized that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the living eternal Guru of the Sikhs, and therefore, there must be special and stringent legal provisions in the country to ensure the respect of religious scriptures, along with exemplary punishment for those found guilty.
He also raised serious questions about the functioning of the police and pointed out that incidents of sacrilege have been continuously occurring for a long time.
