In 1975, three years after making my first documentary in the Himalayas (A Himalayan Journey), I went with a group led by Warwick Deacock, to Gokyo Lake, within sight of Everest. It was the very beginning of commercial treks to that region, well prior to the establisment of the first lodge at Gokyo.
As for the story, I wanted to tell it purely with images, natural sounds and mainly local music.
Fifty years have passed between making this film and uploading it to Youtube. Its a reminder of how much has changed in the region but how much it has also stayed the same.
