Last year we screened New York Ninja at Fighting Spirit Film Festival 2022. New York Ninja was an action film originally shot in the 80s and was written, directed by the lead actor John Liu, but the film was unfinished. The lost footage was acquired by Vinegar Syndrome, with Kurtis Spieler reconstructing the film as a re-director. We chat to Kurtis Spieler about the discovery of the New York Ninja footage, recreating New York Ninja and finding original cast and crew from New York Ninja decades after the film was shot.
