Virumandi samy varalaru is very famous in Madurai, south Tamilnadu. Virumandi temple is located in Karumathur village. Moonusamy temple is the popular name of Virumandi temple. Karumathur Virumandi temple Aadi velli function is to offer a black goat to the God Virumandi. Pechiamman,Mayan are the other gods in this temple. so this temple is called Moonusamy temple. Kaluvanathan temple is lord Shiva temple located near to this Virumandi temple. Peikaman is the guardian deity of Kokkulam village warned lord Pechiamman to leave his area as he didn't like the way of pooja that Pechiamman did. Virumandi came to the help for his sister Pechiamman. Pechiamman wanted Virumandi to be her guardian for all the time. so she arrested viruman in a well near to the temple.
