Coracle ride adventure activities to reach at the base in hogenakkal waterfalls is the primary attraction and this location is present near bangalore. If you are going to hogenakkal waterfalls then you must try coracle ride, bathing, oil massage, fish fry, fish kulambu. I visited on 31 dec 2022 and coverered roadtrip from bangalore to hogenakkal by car distance of 106 km. There are 2 routes i found. One via NH 44 and another via Denkanikottai Rd/Mathigiri Road. I decided to go by car via Denkanikottai Rd/Mathigiri Road. You can find the routes below image. My seelcted route was not so wide but enjoyed the forest view moaximum time of the journey. I enjoyed the roa trip to the level best. Good driving skill is required if you are choosing the route that i followed. Best time to visit hogenakkal waterfalls is between november to may but visiting between november to January will be good since water in falls upto a good limit. Summer season water level will be less. I made an entry in register near to hogenakkal falls while entering the forest checkpost and paid 50 INR. After few kilometer, paid 70 INR agin for parking. On the second check point, one person asked me whether i need coracle ride ? I just told yes. That person followed me with his bike. helped me in car parking. Guided me till the start point of coracle ride area. That guy shared me good infromation. He told me there are 2 types of ride. One coracle ride which they call as tamilnadu falls ride and another ride as kannada falls. Coracle boat ride for tamilnadu water falls only is 750 INR. If you are interested to go for long coracle ride near kannada falls, charge is high 3000 INR. There is a small counter near to start point where i paid 750 INR which is standard charge. To visit kannada falls, ticket is not paid at the counter, its going to the person who is sailing the boat. You will find lot of waterfalls in karnataka and tamilnadu and each tourist places has its own charm in both karnataka and tamilnadu. lakhs of people visit as weekend getaways near bangalore.
