Final Fantasy VIII had the impossible job of coming after Final Fantasy VII, and trying to beat it. It is often called the black sheep of the PlayStation one family but I think there are still a lot of good elements here.
*Side note - it goes quiet for 10 seconds around the 6:05 mark due to Copyright. Just sing a Christmas song, and it will make sense.
