Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced a new 'civil enclave' at Chakeri Airport in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. There will be eight check-in counters, an in-line baggage handling system and two conveyors belts.AAI has said that the terminal will be a 4-star GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) rated energy-efficient building.With a passenger handling capacity of 300, the Chakeri Airport terminal will spread across over 6,218 sqm area. The airport will be suitable for parking of three A-321 type aircraft and a car parking area that can accommodate up to 150 vehicles,The new terminal building is being developed at an approximate cost of ₹168 crore.
