Firstly, these records are not 0.05 and 0.08 seconds respectively, they are 5 and 8 frames. Frames. Yes, the record is documented in frames. For those of you who don't know why this is an issue, it is because cameras record in frames per second (fps), and these ones don't have many fps. If you don't know why this is silly, look at the end of the description.

Etienne comes in at 00:00:08 for disarming the gun this way, which is approximately 0.27 seconds with our camera. However, it means nothing, because this will not work in REALITY.

Why setting records in fps is silly

Okay, honestly, if you came here in a rage I did that to get your attention. Using fps is a good way to determine the timing on something happening very quickly. However, that is only helpful if you have a high-speed camera, meaning a high fps (such as 10,000 fps).

Your normal cameras, most of which range between 24 and 30 frames per second, are not ideal for high-speed tests. Fps means that X amount of images (frames) will be displayed in a second. Therefore the timing is dependent on the camera, and not showing how many fps your camera is running at makes this information useless.

The fps also determines how accurate the timing is. One frame can represent anything from 0.03 seconds (30 fps) to 0.042 (24 fps) seconds on a normal camera. This means that the timing can be off by up to 0.042 seconds. Where as on a high-speed camera with a fps of 10,000, one frame will represent 0.0001 seconds of real-time. Much better.
