In my opinion, Long Tall Sally is the most powerful song The Beatles ever recorded—and they nailed it in just one take!

However, due to the mixing practices of the time, much of that raw energy was compromised. The bass and drums were panned to the left channel and their gain reduced, which diminished their impact. A well-balanced mix, in my view, places the bass and drums in the center, creating a strong foundation that ties together the instrumentation and vocals. And speaking of vocals—Paul McCartney’s performance on this track is simply phenomenal!

In this remix, I’ve made only a few adjustments: I’ve centered the bass and drums and increased their gain to restore the balance and intensity. With this change, you’ll likely notice more of George Harrison’s guitar, which previously shared the left channel with the rhythm section. Ringo Starr’s dynamic drumming truly comes alive in this new mix, showcasing his incredible talent and the driving force he brought to high-energy rockers like this one. Imagine how thrilling it must have been for early fans to experience this electric performance live!

As always, I’ve stayed true to the original recording. No modern drum machines or samples have been added—this is 100% The Beatles. The remix simply applies a mixing approach that became more common a few years after this song was recorded.
