Kentucky lawmakers take action on legislation inspired by the Crystal Rogers murder investigation.
The House Judiciary Committee unanimously approved what is dubbed “the Crystal Rogers Act.”
Brooks Houck and several family members broke the law when they secretly recorded grand jury testimony, but they could not be charged because the recordings were found after the legal deadline had expired.
Rogers’ mother attended today’s committee hearing. Sherry Ballard urged lawmakers to close the loophole by extending the statute of limitations from one year to 10.
