Using Meguiar's Polishing Compound G18116 on a foam pad attached to either a Milwaukee M12 Die Grinder or a Milwaukee M18 Orbital Sander, the job was fast and best, effective. Shiny new headlights just like new.
The die grinder worked, but the orbital sander worked even better. From no on that's my go-to and I won't even bother with the die grinder.
I chose the Meguiar's polishing compound due to recommendations and its made in the USA. And there are plenty of stories about its effectiveness in online forums. Further, there were warnings not to use any kind of rubbing compound as that will scratch up the soft plastic headlight covers.
Overall, a few minutes with an orbital sander, foam pad, and Meguiar's polishing compound will literally make the difference between night and day.
