Fiction, Faction and the Spaces in Between
Keshava Guha, Michelle Gallen and Niamh Campbell in conversation with Sandip Roy
A session that examines fiction, faction and the spaces in between. Three talented writers address fictional and factual worlds through their writing, as they draw from memory, history, and social reality to illuminate deeper truths. Keshava Guha, novelist and columnist, discusses The Tiger’s Share, a tragicomedy that explores power, privilege, and political undercurrents in contemporary India. Michelle Gallen, award-winning Irish writer of Big Girl, Small Town and Factory Girls, vividly captures class, conflict, and resilience in post-Troubles Northern Ireland. Irish novelist Niamh Campbell is known for an ‘uncanny emotional insight’, and discusses her works This Happy, We Were Young and the forthcoming Make Strange. In conversation with Sandip Roy, they discuss the nuances of storytelling and the process of staying true to the written word.
