Feeling overwhelmed by screens, schedules, and the constant pressure to be “on”? 😵
So many of my clients are constantly giving to others, at work, at home, in every direction, but not carving out time for themselves. You can’t support others if you’re running on empty. Like I tell my clients, it starts with putting on your own oxygen mask first. One of the ways we can accomplish that is by taking intentional breaks from technology, which helps you reconnect with yourself, restore your energy, and boost your well-being. Whether you're a busy professional, parent, or simply craving more balance, these tips are designed to fit into your lifestyle.
Unplugging isn’t just about taking a vacation (although that’s important too!). It’s about finding small, intentional ways to care for your mind, body, and spirit throughout your day.
Here are some of the ways I personally recommend building that space:
✅ Take micro-breaks during your day, even 5–10 minutes to pause can make a big difference.
✅ Read a book, journal, or simply breathe to create calm moments.
✅ Listen to music or take a short walk to reset your mind and body.
✅ Use your vacation time and don’t let it go unused!
✅ Fully unplug on vacation: put away your phone and be present.
✅ Plan offline activities you enjoy like crafts, reading, or sightseeing.
✅ Set boundaries for checking email or messages—schedule specific times.
✅ Focus on connecting with people and experiences around you.
✅ Give yourself permission to rest so you can return recharged.
✅ Remember: just like your phone, you need to reboot too.
