Temperature Protection System – PLC Logic Question
A heater is controlled based on temperature feedback.
✅ Condition:
Heater should TURN OFF when temperature exceeds 85 °C
Heater should TURN ON again only when temperature falls below 75 °C
❓ Question:
1️⃣ Which compare instructions will you use in PLC to achieve this logic?
2️⃣ How will you avoid frequent ON/OFF (chattering) of the heater near the setpoint?
💡 Hint: Think in terms of hysteresis / dead band logic, not a single compare instruction.
