I was working on a ghost story, inspired by one of my favourite novels and movies, The Shining by the master #StephenKing. It’s one of the best #liminalspace fictions around, as it doesn’t get spookier than a hotel with no guests.
I got to wondering about what it might be like to be in the famous #OverlookHotel hedge maze late at night, a cold wind howling, the ice in the foliage cracking, and something that may or may not be footsteps padding on the soft snow. This is what I cooked up to listen to while I wrote, and found it chilling in more ways than one.
Perfect for using as spooky ambience for concentration or studying, or even to relax to as the gentle tapping-like cracks. It might even lull you to sleep, although you might want to keep one eye open for whoever or whatever is behind you in the maze.
