The Supreme Court of India has imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the wife's father for the FIR lodged at two different places under Section 498A of the IPC and other sections. In this case, the woman who lodged the FIR was posted on the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Udaipur, Rajasthan, whose husband was a chartered accountant from Hisar. Hisar court acquitted the husband of 498A charges while the husband took refuge in Rajasthan High Court and asked the court that how can two FIRs be filed on the same charges? However, when Rajasthan High Court did not give any relief, the husband took refuge in the Supreme Court.
