Replace DAMAGED Caps on Caterpillar 815 Soil Compactor Wheels | Welding & Arc Gouging

Описание: This video is a job we did to replace the worn out and damaged caps on a set of four compactor wheels for a Caterpillar 815F Soil Compactor. Over time the caps get damaged from compacting dirt, gravel and rocks which causes abrasion and wears down the caps. First we carbon air arc gouge off the welds to remove the worn out caps using our Lincoln Electric DC-400 welder and carbon rods. We then wire wheel and grind off the dirt and welds to prepare the pedestals for the new caps. Then we fit and tack the new caps on to the pedestals using Fluxofil M10 metal cored wire. Once all the caps are tacked in place we weld them on using Hobart XL525 dual shield wire to finish.
