Traveling from Punakha to Paro by car is one of the most scenic road journeys in Bhutan, offering a beautiful blend of mountain landscapes, winding valleys, and peaceful countryside views. The drive takes around four hours and usually begins with a gentle descent from Punakha’s warm valley.. As the road continues toward Paro, the scenery shifts into lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional Bhutanese villages. Instead of passing through the town center, the route continues directly toward the hilltop where Hotel Dawa stands. The gentle climb upward reveals expanding views of the valley below, and the hotel’s elevated setting provides a peaceful vantage point, making it an ideal place to unwind after the journey from Punakha.
