Spent a few warm days fly fishing in the Catskills, focusing on cooler pockets of the Esopus and Schoharie creeks and their tributaries. While the high temps limited options, I found a few stretches of water safe enough to fish—and they paid off. Schoharie, missed a tiny smallmouth. Every bite came on the olive wooly bugger. They wouldn’t touch anything else. The last day of the trip was actually cold - around 60 degree air temp. And nothing was biting :(
