Foreign residents in China now have access to the country's e-CNY digital payment system, allowing them to make purchases and payments similar to millions of Chinese citizens. This development is particularly beneficial for international students, who can easily open an e-CNY account upon their arrival in China. The e-CNY app has been recently enhanced to accommodate overseas mobile phone numbers, as well as Visa and MasterCard, streamlining the registration process and facilitating fund transfers to user accounts.
