Genesis is one of over 100 youth that participate in Universidad Popular's UPrising Youth Program every year. She and many other inner city youth are improving their lives and their future through Uprising's holistic mentorship approach that encompasses academics, culture, and physical activity. This program is essential for her since her parents work and are not home until 6PM. UPrising has become a safe space for her after school where she can be with her friends while learning and growing as a leader in her community.
