You might hear it called back-foot receiving or receiving on the half-turn...no matter what we call it, there is a real need to coach young players how to do it.
Phil Foden is a fantastic example of a player who receives on the back foot to play forward and break the lines.
This activity is a great football drill to use with your players to help them learn how to do this is in real situations.
Give the video a watch to pick up a few tips on things you can say to your players to help them remember what to do when receiving the ball.
