The answer to your slug and snail problem: copper mesh!
It's a non-toxic, non-killing solution that is actually working for me. I've lost two bean plants because I didn't protect them with the copper mesh. All my other seedlings are still thriving. Hope I didn't jinx myself by saying this 🍀🤞🏻
I use raised beds to grow my veggies. As you can see I covered the edges with copper mesh to prevent slugs from entering my beds. But since slugs are very determined little creatures I added an extra barrier of copper mesh around my individual seedlings. I also use coconut vibers around my plants as an other safety measure. This also helps the ground to retain moisture as well as preventing weeds. So win win!
