Three days. One swell window. South Sumatra.
This strike mission was built around timing, chasing a short run of quality Indo swell and making every hour count. Multiple layovers, long overnight taxi rides, airport benches and winding coastal roads that blurred into sunrise. We arrived tired and paddled out straight into bombs.
South Sumatra delivered everything you hope for in a warm water mission. Heavy slabs, hollow sections, long almond barrels and proper reef power. The kind of waves that make the travel instantly worth it.
More than anything, this trip was about reconnecting. Sharing long sessions, sunrise paddles and post surf debriefs with good mates in a place that demands commitment. Three days of movement, laughter, fatigue and serious waves.
Strike missions are never comfortable. But when the swell lines up like this, you go.
