Meet Jimi Hightower, a Grants Management Specialist here in FEMA Region 10! She works with the State of Washington’s Emergency Management Division managing their non-disaster grant portfolio which includes Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA), and legacy Pre-Disaster Mitigation grants.
"The best part of my job is seeing projects I’ve been a part of truly benefiting our communities. One really cool thing about BRIC is they’re emphasizing innovative projects – now that can have it’s own challenges, but can also result in some really cool projects that leverage natural solutions and build partnerships to achieve a common goal of public safety and resilience. "
