My transcription of the original version of the music that was adapted later for the Christmas hymn "'Hark!,' the Herald Angels Sing." The images in the video are from the original score, not from my transcription.
This is the second movement from a cantata that Mendelssohn composed to commemorate the invention of moveable type by Gutenberg. The secular text of this movement was completely replaced by the English hymn-text.
