On July 30, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight DL56, enroute from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, made an emergency landing at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport after encountering severe turbulence over Wyoming. MSP Airport LIVE captured the aircraft’s dramatic arrival and the swift response from emergency crews. This is the original footage that aired nationwide on media outlets following the incident.
According to reports, the Airbus A330-900 experienced violent turbulence approximately 45 minutes into the flight, causing the aircraft to drop nearly 2,000 feet in 90 seconds. The turbulence lasted for several minutes and struck in three escalating waves, according to eyewitness accounts.
🚑 25 individuals, including 7 crew members, were hospitalized for evaluation and care. All have since been released. Delta arranged a special continuation flight from MSP to Amsterdam the following evening.
