Christmas hits harder inside these walls. No snow, no warmth — just thin decorations, louder radios, and the cruel reminder of what’s missing. While the world outside sings about peace and salvation, the cellblock measures the day in keys, footsteps, and hours that refuse to pass.
This song is a darker 1950s prison Christmas blues, built on bitter restraint that erupts into a raw, aggressive chorus. Hollow-body electric guitar drags against a heavy upright bass and brushed drums that turn forceful when the weight breaks through. Harmonica cuts sharp near the climax, not for comfort, but accusation.
The voice doesn’t beg and it doesn’t forgive. It pushes back against carols, sermons, and false comfort — a man buried alive while the world celebrates. Christmas here isn’t holy. It’s absence made louder.
