This song is a darker 1950s prison Christmas blues, built on bitter restraint that erupts into a raw, aggressive chorus. Hollow-body electric guitar drags against a heavy upright bass and brushed drums that turn forceful when the weight breaks through. Harmonica cuts sharp near the climax, not for comfort, but accusation.
