How to Preserve Real Leaves and Turn Them Into Great Fall Decor

SUPPLIES & MATERIALS USED:

Leaves (stating the obvious here)
Mod Podge, of your choice *
Paint brush — I use a traditional artist’s brush, but many like a thin foam brush or sponge brush
Wax paper or parchment paper
Paper towels
Iron, optional
——-
Flameless, battery-powered votive candles
Clear, frosted Christmas bulbs
Glaze compound, I used Valspar, but Flotrel will work great too
craft paint of your choice
Leather scrap
Rivets

Wire sphere frame from Dollar Tree
Hot glue gun with low setting
Glue sticks

there are several options for Mod Podge, gloss, matte, glitter, satin, outdoor, dishwasher safe, and more. And one called Mod Podge Stiffy which is broadly intended as a fabric stiffener

NOTE: I used Mod Podge Super Matte (which it’s not, it’s more eggshell or even satin finish) For the globe or garden sphere, next time I will start with a layer of Stiffy and then finish with the Super Matte.
