Описание: Iran may be trying to activate sleeper cells outside the country. ABC reported Monday that the U.S. just intercepted an encrypted message believed to have originated in Iran that may serve as an 'operational trigger' for sleeper assets.

"A country like Iran does not have the capability to beat us militarily, so they rely on asymmetric means. So they will look to use cyber attacks, they will look to use proxies like Hezbollah, criminal agents," former DHS Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism, Elizabeth Naumann, told ABC News.

The U.S warning said intelligence had detected a broadcast station repeatedly transmitting a message to multiple countries outside Iran. “While the exact contents of these transmissions cannot currently be determined, the sudden appearance of a new station with international rebroadcast characteristics warrants heightened situational awareness," the alert said.

"If ever there's going to have a Hezbollah cell or a Hamas cell act in the U.S. in a violent way, it's now, because their back is against the wall," Chris Swecker, a former Assistant FBI Director told Fox News just after the war started."

A sleeper cell is a covert group of operatives who infiltrate a targeted community and remain inactive for an extended period of time. Blending into society to avoid detection, they wait for a specific signal or event to carry out a mission. While speaking in Florida on Monday, President Donald Trump was asked directly about these reported sleeper cells. Specifically, if Iran has activated any inside the U.S.
