If you are in the top tax bracket, you pay 45% in tax plus any Capital Gains you might have on investments or property. This can feel like a lot especially when you look at the potential return you are getting for paying 45% in taxes.

This naturally leads me to the UK's infrastructure: think of the rail, roads, NHS, and elements like that. When you compare it to other European countries and even countries in Asia, the rail networks can be old and expensive to travel on at peak times.

Thirdly, being an expat of 10 years and having spent my time travelling around different parts I have seen and experienced many different places. For example, the healthcare in Bangkok, it's private and you do have to pay for it, however, the service is incredible. With many companies in the UK offering private healthcare as a benefit in the UK, it shows that many would rather opt for private healthcare if they can.

The UK faces many people leaving because they feel that what they pay vs what they receive is out of balance. Especially for those in the top tax bracket, as this happens, this puts more strain on the UK because it struggles to replace the contributions those earners make and therefore has less to spend and budget for meaning many of the problems people face aren't likely to improve in the short term.

Each person will have their own reason for leaving the UK and it might be for none of the reasons listed. I enjoy the weather of Thailand and how connected Thailand is to the surrounding areas.
