Описание: The Babinski reflex, or plantar reflex, is a foot reflex in babies and young children (up until 2 years of age). This reflex is usually tested by stroking the sole of the foot. The reflex is present when the big toe bends up and back toward the top of the foot while the other four toes spread out from one another.

In children under 2, a weak Babinski reflex could indicate a problem. Children born with any condition that causes spasticity (muscle spasms and stiffness), either have a weak Babinski reflex or may not even have it at all.

If the Babinski reflex is present after 2 years of age, the child may have an underlying nervous system or brain condition causing their reflexes to react abnormally."
