Allison Pearson: Children 'more likely to die on the roads than from coronavirus'

Allison says the government terrified everyone into complying with lockdown rules and the strategy ended up going too far. She says "a child is more likely to be killed driving to school than to have come to any harm in the classroom" from coronavirus.

Claiming that a lots of children are "suffering really bad problems" she further adds "we've also got mums and dads who are desperate to get back to work because they see this economic disaster that's looming."

A number of teachers have reportedly contacted Allison saying they are too scared to speak out and she says "the government needs to get some balls and just tell teachers, you're going back to school".

Following Boris Johnson's clash with coronavirus, Allison says the Prime Minister has probably been "rattled" by it but suggests the government are now being "painfully slow" to unlock from the lockdown.
