Описание: Mikaela Minga’s talk is an in-depth analysis of the inner and outer core elements that have contributed to the transformation of the Albanian music in the transitory post dictatorship era, at a time when the cultural boundaries, erected and monitored by the authoritarian state, came down. By providing vivid examples of some of the main elements that have influenced Albanian music today, she takes the audience on a journey of discovery and self-awareness like never before Mikaela Minga is an ethno/musicologist at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Art Studies as well as an invited lecturer at the University of Arts - Tirana. She studies different musical practices of the Balkan and the Mediterranean area, 20th century music and their diverse artistic and socio-cultural ties. She is the author of many books, essays and various articles. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
