First edition of AFC Asian Cup was held in 1956, There were overall 17 competitions since then. Japan is the most successful with 4 trophies. Saudi Arabia, Iran, South Korea, Israel, Kuwait, Australia & Iraq are the other trophy holders. Countries such as India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, China are yet to show some remarkable performances. Israel were expelled from the AFC in 1974 and joined UEFA in 1991.
