Traveling with the TALIBAN: Visiting Mazar-i-Sharif (World Famous Blue Mosque) & Ancient Balkh

Описание: Welcome to my Afghanistan series. Today, I am exploring the northern city of world-famous Mazar-i-Sharif and the adjacent historical city of Balkh.

Despite the complex security situation and traveling alongside Taliban members, I found moments of great connection and curiosity. We started our trip going back in time in Balkh, one of the oldest cities in the world. After having lunch with the our Taliban guide, we visited the iconic Blue Mosque, a place of peace and stunning beauty.

Later on the day, I hunt down the legendary Afghan ice cream that everyone talks about—spoiler: it lives up to the hype. To end the day, I connected with the local community at a gritty gym in Mazar, proving that fitness and friendship transcend borders.
